OCTOBER 2019 UPDATE

Since its humble beginnings in 1896 as the Charity Organization Society, Family Service of Greater New Orleans has been a resource to families in our city when they needed it the most. While Family Service will cease operations as of September 30th, 2019, Family Service has entered into a strategic partnership exploration with CADA Prevention & Recovery Center that will allow their programs and services to continue. CADA staff and Board Members are working tirelessly to ensure continuity of services for all of the families in their care.

In the coming months, the Board of Directors of both CADA and Family Service, under the guidance of and with capacity-building support from the Greater New Orleans Foundation (GNOF) and Baptist Community Ministries (BCM) will work to preserve the 120+ year legacy of Family Service by continuing the programs and services under unified leadership with expanded capacity to serve the community.

Families and individuals who are in the care of Family Service can call CADA at 504-821-2232 to schedule an appointment or seek a referral.

HOW TO ACCESS SERVICES

If you suffer from stress, anxiety, depression, substance abuse, trauma or domestic violence, are a parent without healthy child-rearing experience, or just need to talk, you can call 504.821.2232 to assess your eligibility for counseling.

Many services are free, and FSGNO offers a sliding scale fee schedule to assist clients who may be unable to pay for general counseling services that are fee-based. FSGNO will not discriminate in the provision of services based on ability to pay, or on the individual’s race, color, sex, sexual orientation or expression, national origin, disability, religion or age.

FSGNO SERVICES WILL BE MOVING TO 2640 CANAL STREET, 4TH FLOOR. PLEASE CONTINUE TO CHECK HERE FOR UPDATES REGARDING SERVICES.
